On the whole, the state is moist in the southern districts and dry in the northern districts.
The intensity of the climate has been reduced by the Arabian sea and the Gulf of Cambay. The forest covered mountains on the eastern boundary also help reduce the intensity of the climate rendering it pleasant and healthy. Ahmedabad is a dry, warm city.
The winter season starts from November and continues till mid-March. After that the days start getting warmer though the nights are pleasant.
From mid-March to mid-June is the summer season. At its peak, the temperature touches 45 or even 46 degrees
Celsius.
The south west monsoon lashes the State and city from mid-June and continues till September end. Like the first half of March, in October too the days are warm but the nights pleasant.
A typical day in Ahmedabad is dry, warm and sunny.
